Ways to Volunteer
There’s no shortage of ways you can lend a hand at Wynwood House, all of which are helpful. In the first tier of volunteering, no personal contact is involved. By contrast, personal interaction is part of the second tier of volunteering.
The route you take is up to you. Any contribution will be greatly appreciated and will help our residents and staff.

Tier 1
Service options may include:
- Weeding, pruning, landscaping, gardening
- Event/holiday planning and food prep
- Providing approved non-interactive entertainment
- Pressure washing, vehicle washing
- Organizing closets, sheds, etc.
Volunteering to complete any of these essential tasks keeps our organization running smoothly and helps our residents flourish.

Tier 2
Tier 2 volunteer options require a background check and may include:
- Talking with residents
- Walking with residents
- Assisting with eating
- Helping with arts and crafts
- Providing approved interactive entertainment
When you volunteer in these capacities, you can provide additional companionship and social interaction for our residents, brightening their days and fostering a sense of connection and belonging.
Rules & Requirements for Volunteers
We value our volunteers and are committed to keeping them safe and healthy, just as we’re concerned with the well-being of our residents. The following is a list of rules and requirements that each volunteer must adhere to:
- You must sign in and check in with the head nurse before starting any service.
- You may not be alone in a room with a closed door with any resident at any time.
- You may not impose any personal beliefs on any residents without their consent.
- You may not have had a fever, coughing, or runny nose – or any other potentially contagious illness – within the last 48 hours.
